Parish Clerk: Tim Hayne T. 07900 242 114 clerk@chiltonpoldenpc.co.uk
Somerset County Council’s current volunteer drivers are in need of new recruits, to support the NHS and the Council in ensuring patients get the care and treatment that they need.
Its an ideal opportunity for anybody over 18 with a full UK driving licence and four-door car to do something for their community; especially those who enjoy driving and meeting new people. Patients appreciate the opportunity to chat to their drivers, since some live in socially or geographically isolated situations.

Chilton Polden Annual Litter Pick
In spite of COVID 19 and variable weather more than 20 Chilton Polden villagers and Girl Guides gathered at the Village Hall to scour the village for litter. From the Playing Field to Priory Lane and Church Lane to Goose Lane, every can, bottle, crisp packet and much more was picked and bagged. The consensus was that there was less rubbish than previous years, so people are heeding the message to use the bins provided to keep our village clean. On completion everyone returned to the Village Hall and enjoyed refreshments and a chat. The Parish Council is keen to hear of any other activities that villagers want to organise to enhance Chilton Polden.
Thanks again to all of the volunteers for their time and enthusiasm and Sedgemoor District Council who provided the equipment.
